SNPRC maintains and distributes a broad range of biological material, including but not limited to, blood (fresh and frozen), tissues (fresh and frozen), and extracted DNA. The primary source is our current population of approximately 2,500 baboons (Papio sp.). Samples are also available from chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes), macaques (Macaca mulatta and Macaca fascicularis), and marmosets (Callithrix jacchus). Samples from the pedigreed baboon colony (currently about 2,000 animals) are available for collaborative research that requires genetic analysis.
