Research Focus
Stanton Gray, D.V.M., Ph.D., DACLAM, is a veterinarian-scientist exploring genetic and epigenetic components of disease risk, particularly those with a chronic inflammatory pathogenesis. His current research focuses on naturally occurring colorectal cancer (CRC), including a highly heritable form called Lynch Syndrome, and chronic colidites of nonhuman primates (NHPs) as translationally relevant animal models of these human diseases. Within a similar framework as physician-scientists, Dr. Gray leverages his extensive clinical and population health expertise with NHPs to direct research questions and continually refine the trajectory of his highly collaborative research program. He serves as the Colony Administrator for the Southwest National Primate Research Center.
